The Transitgas natural gas pipeline system ("Transitgas") is a 293 km unregulated, contracted, operating natural gas pipeline in Switzerland that was designed to transport natural gas from the Norwegian and Dutch supply regions in the North to the Italian market in the South, linking the key markets of Germany, France and Italy. In 2012, GIP and Fluxys entered into a strategic partnership in relation to the ownership and operation of the Transitgas system. Fluxys is Belgium’s gas transmission system operator and the leading independent European gas infrastructure company. It operates natural gas pipelines, LNG terminals and gas storage facilities across Europe.
GIP invested in Transitgas in 2012 and sold its interest in this natural gas pipeline system in 2016.View Next Investment
