Gatwick Airport Limited (“Gatwick”) is the second largest airport in the UK and the ninth-largest in Europe.  In 2012, Gatwick handled 34 million passengers from its single runway.   Located 28 miles south of central London, Gatwick is easily accessible by both motorway and train.  As a result, Gatwick serves both the London and wider South-East England aviation markets, with a wide catchment area covering some of the wealthiest areas of the United Kingdom.  Gatwick is primarily a point-to-point airport serving a broad customer base including UK, European and global business and leisure travelers.  A GIP-led consortium acquired Gatwick in December 2009.
