PoM is the principal gateway port to a cross section of the world’s largest shipping lines and Australia’s major freight logistic companies. PoM handles over 3,000 ships and 2.64 million TEU annually.
In September 2016, the GIP Australia Fund (“GIPA”), together with its co-Investor consortium partners Future Fund, QIC and Borealis, entered into an agreement to acquire a ~40% equity stake in the 50-year lease of the Port of Melbourne from the State Government of Victoria.
